The Money Spot Coaches
Araba Amissah
I am a second-year Psychology major and Business minor. One thing that I have been very fixed on since coming to VCU is building my own leadership skills. By becoming a Money Coach, I am putting myself in the position to learn, lead, and connect with my peers. Imagine how peaceful our lives would be if the hassle of finance, as a college student, was not in the way. Unfortunately, finance is a huge part of adulthood however, it does not need to be a hassle! I am here to help my fellow VCU students on their financial wellness journey so that the idea of being financially stable throughout and beyond college does not seem impossible!
Jade Mobley
I'm a junior and Biology major on a Pre Med track! I joined the Money Spot because I wanted to learn how to be financially successful and teach communities how to do the same. I believe that once you learn how to successfully manage your finances it is your job to teach others how to be financially secure.
Jack Kline
I am a third-year, majoring in political science with a concentration in politics and government. I got involved with the Money Spot in order to promote financial wellness within the VCU community. I am also involved in the Pre-Law Society, the Political Science Honors Society, and the Ram Literary & Debate Society.
Dorian Philpot
I am a sophomore Economics major in the School of Business with a minor in Political Science. I got involved with the Money Spot because I have always been interested in financial wellness, but after spending the Spring 2020 Semester learning about financial education and its relationship to students pursuing higher education, I wanted to put my knowledge into practice. The Money Spot is the perfect opportunity to further my own understanding of finances and to support my peers as they learn about financial wellness. I am also a student of the Honors College and VCU LEAD. Currently, I serve as the secretary for Women in Business.
